Plautus, Titus Maccius. Captivi
Ancient Roman play by Plautus depicting slavery and mistaken identity, whereby the protagonist Tyndarus assumes the identity of his master in order to escape captivity. It is also noteworthy for its lack of a love interest. It may have first staged in 189 BCE.
