Lipsius, Justus, 1547-1606. Correspondence

Correspondences of Justus Lipsius, which includes the collection of 100 epistles that Lipsuis himself published in 1586 under the title Centuria. A formidable figure in the Republic of Letters of his time, Lipsius saw to preserving his letters for posterity by editing further collections for publication under the same title, which would appear posthumously. In total, the inventory of letters number 4,300 texts and 700 correspondents, mostly in Latin with a few in the vernacular such as French and Dutch.
