Life of the Virgin Mary in verse. Adapted from a 13th-century Latin life of the Virgin, the Marienleben is the most widely preserved German verse text from the Middle Ages, with more than 100 copies in manuscripts and fragments. It was also incorporated into later compilations, such as world chronicles, including that of Heinrich von München.
