Collegium Melitense (Valletta, 1592-1768)
The Collegium Melitense, or College of the Society of Jesus, was founded in 1592 in Valletta, Malta. Grand Master Emanuel Pinto da Fonseca expelled the Jesuits from Malta in 1768, acquired the College's property and refounded the Collegium Melitense as the Pubblica Università di Studi Generali in 1769.
