Aṛakʻel, Baghishetsʻi, 1380-1454
He was a poet and ordained Vardapet (archimandrite) of the Armenian church, who composed elegies, eulogies, lamentations, and martyrologies. Born near the city of Baghesh (present-day Bitlis, Turkey), he studied with Grigor Khlatetsi (1349-1425).
