Ribeiro, João Pinto, -1649

Portuguese jurist and politician, who was a key conspirator (one of the Os Conjurados) of the Restauração da Independência of December 1, 1640. He studied at the Universidade de Coimbra and held judicial and administrative positions both in the localities and for João IV, whom he supported to supplant the rule of Philiip IV of Castile.
