Lāqač, Queen of Goğğām, active 19th century-20th century

The daughter of Wāg Śeyyum Gabra Madḫen and sister of Emperor Takla Giyorgis II, Lāqač married the governor of Goğğām, Takla Hāymānot, in approximately 1868. After her husband's death in early 1901, she made an unsuccessful attempt for the throne, afterwards retiring to her homeland.
