Graves, Algernon, 1845-1922

Writer on art. The second son of Henry Graves, he ran the family publishing business, Henry Graves & Co., after his father's death. He researched for catalogues and compiled lists of works exhibited at various London venues. His efforts led to A Dictionary of Artists who have Exhibited Works in the Principal London Exhibitions from 1760 to 1880, published in 1884. He later authored works on art societies, exhibitions, sales, and collections in England.
