Lima, António de, -1582

Portuguese historian and geneaologist born in Lisbon, possibly Guimarães, he died in Guimarães on September 18, 1582, being buried in the Convento de San Francisco. He was the son of Diogo Lopes de Lima, a commander of the Orden de Cristo and copeiro-mór of King João III, and Izebel Pereira de Castro, Senhora de Castro Daire. He was married to Maria de Vilhena, and served as the commander of Castro Daire and São Pedro das Alhadas in the Ordem de Cristo, and alcaide-mór of Guimarães.
