La Porte, Amador de, 1566?-1644

French Knight of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem born in Picardy. He was received as a minor in the Order of Saint John on 11 June 1582, professing as a knight in 1584. He served as commander of Clichy-en-Launois and became Prior of Champagne (1637-1639) and Prior of France (1639-1644) in the Langue du France. He also served as Admiral in the French Navy and Maréchal du Camp. He was appointed Governor of Aunis, Saintonge and La Rochelle, France.
