- وديع بن فارس بن عيد البستاني=Wadīʻ ibn Fāris ibn ʻĪd al-Bustānī; Lebanese writer and poet; translator; born in Lebanon in 1886; famous for helping to revive/preserve the Arabic language; educated in Beirut and Jerusalem; taught, translated for the British consulate in Yemen; in 1923, was elected as secretary for Palestinian Arab delegation to London; died in 1954
