Walda Masqal Tāriku, Ṣaḥāfē teʼezāz, active 1920-1933
Minister of the Pen (and also of Agriculture) under Empress Zawditu, he also served as the first alaqā of Dabra Salām Qeddus Esṭifānos Church in Addis Ababa and was among the prominent Ethiopians held as prisoners of war by the Italians at Asinara. The Walda Masqal Centre of the Institute of Ethiopian Studies is named after him.
