Encyclopedic work on natural history in twenty books that was started in 1225 and completed in 1244. The work covers a range of topics, including the four elements, human anatomy, fauna and flora, celestial phenomena, stones and metals, and the concept of the soul. The work has been falsely attributed to Dominican philosopher and prelate Albertus Magnus.
