Israeli, Isaac, approximately 832-approximately 932. Kitāb al-ḥudūd
This compendium of 57 definitions was compiled by Isaac from a variety of sources, including al-Kindi. It was originally written in Arabic, of which only a fragment survives. There are two Hebrew translations and two Latin translations, becoming popular with Christian scholastics. The longer Latin translation is by Gherardo da Cremona, while the shorter version may be an epitome of the longer version or an earlier translation by possibly Dominicus Gundissalinus. One of the Hebrew translations is by Nissim ben Solomon, but it is unknown whether he used the Latin or the Arabic as a source.
