Huart, Pierre-Michel, 1687?-1764

Bookseller to the queen of France and bookseller-printer to the Dauphin (1739). He was the son of a bourgeois merchant from Paris and grandson of the Parisian bookseller Jean Guignard; older brother of the bookseller Charles Huart. Said to be 12 years old when he entered into an apprenticeship with his uncle, the bookseller Michel Guignard, in September 1699. Received as bookseller in January 1717 and printer in April 1739. Died in Paris in March 9, 1764. His widow, Marie-Anne Berruyer (died August 16, 1770) succeeded him and worked in association with his son-in-law Nicolas-François Moreau.
