Jełowicki, Aleksander, 1804-1877
Polish Catholic priest, writer, poet, translator, and publisher, active in Rome and then Paris, where he was superior of the Polish Catholic mission. He was associated with Makryna Mieczysławska, the alleged abbess of the Basilian nuns from Minsk, traveling with her to Rome to help found a Basilian convent there.
