Bukhārī, ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz, 1949-2010

ʻAbd al-ʻAzīz al-Bukhārī (1949-2010) was a peacemaker, sufi teacher, and collector of ancient Uzbek artifacts and Islamic manuscripts. He was the head of the Naqshbandi Holy Land Sufi Order and the Uzbek Holy Land Community, as a direct descendant of the Sunni scholar Muḥammad ibn Ismāʻīl al-Bukhārī (810-870). Bukhārī was highly active as a leader of interfaith gatherings and peace initiatives.
