French engraver, publisher, and printseller primarily active in Paris. Member of the Chéreau family of printsellers and publishers. Brother and student of François Chéreau (1717-1755) and father of Jacques-Simon Chéreau (1732-1786). Paternal grandfather of Jacques-Simon Chéreau (approximately 1760-1807). Maternal grandfather of Jacques-François Chéreau; his brother François was the paternal grandfather.
